Under the Weather

So it's been raining all day long. It's the type of weather where you want to stay in bed all day long. Well, I did it. I took off work and I've been in bed all day long. However, I'd like to know who says, "At least when you're sick you can stay in bed all day long." Normally, taking a nap is never taken for granted. I LOVE to take a nap and will never turn down the opportunity if it is given to me. But today, I have felt HORRIBLE! I took the kids to Sharon's today (babysitter) and I went to the doctor. Yes, I probably should have gone earlier since my symptoms began Thursday with my right eye nearly closed shut. I am one who a lot of times believes medicine is all in your head. If you think it's working then it's working. And the other way around too. So, I naturally think I'm going to ride this one out and it will eventually get better. I'm becoming a pro at getting pink eye so I think I can beat it like nothing. I was so wrong. It only got worse. It's horrible! It not only hurts in my eyes, but my entire head throbs. It hurts to lay down. Matter of fact, it makes it worse! The doctor gave me two eye drops...one is antibiotic. The other is an allergy drop. Then of course she prescribes an allergy pill. A grand total of $100 at the doctor today. Lovely. I knew there was a reason I usually try to wait it out. Do you know what $100 will buy? I can think of two important things off the top of my head...5 jumbo packs of Huggies or about 9 containers of formula. Oh to think of the possibilities!

So, though the weather outside is a good day for sleeping...it's definitely not a good day when you're feeling a little "under the weather".
