Christmas Time

It has been way too long since I've written. Honestly, I have been so darn tired that I don't feel like thinking about my thoughts and writing them down. Does that sound crazy? It's been a great month. Kaden had his birthday party and it was a success. It was the easiest party yet. I'm all about not having to do much. We've always done the parties at our house and it's just insane. So it was a nice change.

Thanksgiving was wonderful. It's always so great to see our friends and family. We were busy as always but it is always worth it. The food was yummy! We're were thankful enough to go to three places for Thanksgiving! Food, food and more food! We played SingStar at Wade's parents. It was so much fun! If you haven't played, it's a must!

It's so much fun to listen to Kaden get excited about all of the Christmas lights. We were driving in Old Town Spring the first week of November so Kaden could see the lights. It just happened to be the way we were going home. So you can imagine his excitement when he sees them on more and more houses. I love it too. This time of year is sooo magical. Right now we have the windows opened (though not for too much longer) and the fire going. We have our tree up (it's even more beautiful this year) and the stockings hung. We still have to put up the lights outside but I think either tomorrow or the next they will be up. We have an adorable Mikey snowglobe blow up in the yard that blows snow. It has Mickey ears! It's so cute!

We're going to the parade in downtown Humble Tuesday night. It's been a family tradition for years on my mom's side. It's even more special that my kids are a part of it now. We all go to the parade and then go to my grandparents house down the street for soup and laughter. Last year Wade was sick and Reagan ended up with a crazy fever when we came back home. So hopefully this year it will be better.

We took pictures of the kids next to the tree in a rocking chair. We weren't doing it for any reason other than just to do it. They weren't dressed for anything special and Reagan had actually been eating a chocolate chip cookie (some was on her face still). The pictures we took were actually pretty cute and I decided to go ahead and try to use them for our Christmas card. I went ahead and ordered them and they will be ready in a few days. I can't wait to see them. I just keep thinking, "This will probably be the one and only time they will both sit still long enough to get a picture." Seriously, Kaden doesn't sit still long. So we will see. I'll post some pictures soon.

Happy Birthday Pumpkin!

I can't believe that 3 years ago at 7:07 p.m. we welcomed Kaden into this crazy little world of ours. Where oh where does the time go? I know I am extremely partial, but he is such an amazing boy. Everywhere we go, he makes people laugh. He is a people person for sure. He is well mannered, funny and extremely loving. He loves to cuddle and his laugh is contagious. He learns more and more every day. Watching him love his sister and play with his daddy makes my heart melt a little more everyday. Unfortunatly today he went to the doctor for an ear infection. He woke up complaining that his ear hurt. And sure enough about noon, Ms. Sharon was calling saying how bad he was hurting. So to the doctor we went. Of course this was after he opened his presents and had cupcakes with his friends at Ms. Sharons. He made all of the poeple at the doctor's office laugh. He took his new Lightening McQueen toy with him and showed it off of course. He was such a good boy. When we got home (after a stop at Nina and Papa's) we got his presents out of boxes and ate some cupcakes.

I can't believe how fast time flies. It makes me sad but proud at the same time. Having kids was the best thing that EVER happened to us. I can't imagine life without him.

Happy Birthday to Me and Happy Halloween

So another birthday comes and goes. I love my birthday I have to say. There's something so magical about it. I love Fall and then it's so close to Halloween. I always remember having Halloween birthday parties growing up. So naturally, the month of October felt very much like my birthday...all month. But as I grow up, things change (a little). I still love my birthday very much. But things have changed since I've had kids. Halloween is all about them and then Kaden's birthday is only 5 days after mine.

When I woke up this year, Wade brought the kids to me to love on me before they left. They wrote me a note and left it taped to the TV. I had so many phone calls starting at midnight. It just so happened that we went on a field trip that day to The Children's Museum. It was so much fun. It had Halloween decorations all over the place and all of the staff dressed up in costumes. My kids were so excited that it was my birthday. They most have told me Happy Birthday a million times. That night we went out to eat with my parents. It was just a really good day. I think having kids makes it that more special. They are so excited to sing and eat cake. I'd have a million birthdays just to watch them.

And on to Halloween...it was so much fun this year. Kaden is finally at the age where we can actually trick or treat and enjoy it. The weekend before Halloween, we went to a Halloween party. Kaden was Buzz Lightyear and Reagan was Wonder Woman. They were adorable. She won 1st place in the costume contest. For Halloween he was the same and she was a lady bug. We went trick or treating in my mom and dad's neighborhood. It was amazing how many people were out there. There was a haunted house next to one of the houses. Anyway, here are some pictures from that night.
